Thought it might be fun to share concert memories, experiences, etc….who wants to go first?
-
My first show…40 years ago tomorrow. NY Pavilion in Flushing, NY. I remember taking a piece of candy from the ticket people as I walked into the venue, then everything else is a cocophony of sound/smell/lights/people. I recently found out while researching RELIX: The Book that Owsley dosed all the candy being given out that night. Clarity…40 years after the fact.
Of course, that night changed my life. I went on to publish Relix, become a musician, and remain true to my Deadhead heritage to this day. Long live the strange trip! -
And we know you are a legend in Deadheadland, Toni, as well as an accomplished musician and publisher. Do you have a website I can link to and share with my friends?
Funny how one piece of candy can change your whole world forever. Mine was just a tiny square of plastic. My whole boring youth was blown apart that day, Thank God!
Good to hear from you, Toni. Come back soon.Jeff Drake
